Lots of businesses are using texting software to reach their customers, and you may be too! But have you considered a texting API?

First off, you might be asking yourself, what exactly is a texting API? To put it simply, an API is a software go-between that enables two applications to exchange data. In our case, customers use Zipwhip’s API to integrate texting into their CRM. So let’s talk about some of the ways you can use a texting API.

#1 Notifications.

You can use an API to text customers notifications about account changes, transportation dispatches, delivery updates and more. Like in this example. We sent Razi a tracking number right from our CRM. Hope they like their prints!

#2 Reminders and confirmations.

If you send out a lot of reminder texts, a texting API could be a big timesaver. Imagine being able to automate reminders for things like appointments, upcoming payments, prescription refills… you get the idea.

#3 Marketing.

More and more businesses are jumping on the SMS train for marketing. With an API you can send targeted messages about upcoming sales or discounts in bulk!
#4 Two-factor authentication. Consumers always have their phones nearby, which makes texting a quick and easy way to verify their identity. Automate it with a texting API!
