Zipwhip Named to Deloitte’s 2019 Technology Fast 500™ for Third Consecutive Year

Seattle-based tech company attributes 584% revenue growth to the clear demand for texting in business-to-consumer communication

SEATTLE – Nov. 7, 2019 – Zipwhip, the leading provider of Texting for Business™ has been ranked the 11th fastest-growing company in Washington state on the Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500™, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and energy tech companies in North America, now in its 25th year. Securing the number 188 slot nationally, Zipwhip grew 584% over the past three years.

“When we invented the technology to text enable existing landline, VoIP and toll-free phone numbers in 2014, businesses hadn’t yet realized the power of texting for reaching their customers,” said John Lauer, CEO and co-founder, Zipwhip. “Five years and over 35,000 businesses later, consumers expect the ability to text the companies they work with and, frankly, demand it. I’m incredibly proud of this recognition from Deloitte, and of Zipwhip’s role in shaping how businesses and consumers communicate in the U.S. today.”

Zipwhip credits its 584% revenue growth to keeping its product agile and tailored to customer needs. Supported by nearly $100 million in company funding to-date and a growing customer base, it’s been a strong year for the company with the release of the industry’s first desktop application, a Series D funding round led by Goldman Sachs, the launch of its inaugural State of Texting Report, the appointment of new executives, the completion of its SOC 2 Type 1 certification and many other achievements.

“This year marks the 25th anniversary of Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500, so we are especially pleased to announce and congratulate the 2019 winners,” said Sandra Shirai, vice chairman, Deloitte LLP, and U.S. technology, media and telecommunications leader. “Once again, we saw innovation across the board, with software companies continuing their dominance of the top ten. It’s always inspiring to see how the Fast 500 companies are transforming business and the world we live and work in.”

“As technology innovation trends towards ‘everything as a service,’ it’s no surprise that software companies dominate the winners list yet again this year,” said Mohana Dissanayake, partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP, and industry leader for technology, media and telecommunications, within Deloitte’s audit and assurance practice. “What’s exciting about celebrating 25 years of the Tech Fast 500 is we now have a quarter century of innovation stories to draw and reflect upon. These are the companies that push boundaries, help organizations become more efficient and productive, and ultimately enable businesses to drive growth and revenue. We congratulate all the well-deserving winners.”
