Text 855-ZIP-FACT to Learn the History Behind Zipwhip HQ’s Meeting Room Names

We just moved into a brand new headquarters on beautiful Elliott Bay. One of the biggest perks of this new office is that we now finally have enough conference rooms to fit our rapidly growing team of nearly 300 employees. But rather than any old conference rooms, we took a thoughtful approach to our design and built spaces that fit every type of employee, for every type of meeting. Want to have a quick one-on-one with your manager? Or put on a 100-person training? How about a high-class meeting for 30 people in Zipwhip’s board room?

As much thought as we put into the design of the rooms themselves, we put just as much thought into how to name them. We invite you to text in to 855-ZIP-FACT (855-947-3228) to learn more about the people and places behind our 71 meeting spaces.

Remember: Keywords can only be one word at a time, with no spaces. So if a meeting room has more than one word, combine them so there are no spaces in between.

We found that our most common meetings included just two people – the weekly check ins between employees and their managers. In order to make our 11 one-on-one rooms feel personal and unique, we asked employees to send us photos they’ve taken around Washington state. We chose our 11 favorite photos and blew them up so the back wall of each room had its own unique flavor. Text any of these keywords, one at a time, to get the back story on where these photos were taken and which employee was behind it:

  • MountStHelens
  • Carnival
  • CascadePass
  • Chihuly
  • HohRainforest
  • NooksackRiver
  • Powder
  • SeaCliffs
  • SecondBeach
  • TheMarket
  • Tulips

Our innovation lounge is named after a truly special person in history, who as far as we can tell is only recently getting the credit she’s due. Text “LaMarr” to learn more about this innovator.

Zipwhip’s board room features a custom table built by Urban Hardwoods and can seat up to 40 people. Fun fact, the wood for this table was salvaged from the Lake City neighborhood of Seattle. Text “McLuhan” to learn about the Canadian behind this room name.

Our training room can fit about 100 people and makes the perfect space for engineering meetings, sales trainings and more. Text “Berners-Lee” to learn more about this room, and text “Values” to learn about the wall graphic in the picture above.

Sometimes you just need a break. Our recharge room is meant for that very thing – and is not bookable for meetings. This room is for zen time only. Text “RechargeRoom” to learn more.

We have dozens of conference rooms of all sizes to accommodate the wide variety of meetings our employees hold each day. These rooms are all named after innovators and inventors. Here are a few to try:

  • Hopper
  • Lovelace
  • Cooper
  • Hillebrand
  • Sholes

Even though we’re a texting company, we have to talk on the phone sometimes. And in these reluctant times, we have our trusty sound-proof demo rooms named after Seattle neighborhoods like “QueenAnne” – where our current office is – and “SoDo” – the neighborhood we just left.

Do these rooms look like the sort of place you’d like to come work in? Check out our open jobs today!
