You’ve done the research, you’ve bought the right software and now your business phone number is text enabled with Zipwhip. Woo hoo! You’re on the path to better connecting with customers on their favorite medium. Getting started with business texting is easy as long as you have a stellar adoption process set in place. Follow these steps to help your teams and customers make a seamless transition into texting for business.
1. Read through our Getting Started Guide
You should have received Zipwhip’s Getting Started Guide when you text enabled your phone number. If you need another copy, please reach out to our Customer Service team. This document offers a quick-start checklist to setting up your Zipwhip account in about 20 minutes. When you click on each step, you’ll see a detailed explanation or video on how to complete the task. The document also includes where to find Zipwhip support when you need extra help, as well as a few ideas on where to advertise your newly text enabled number.
Zipwhip software is intuitive and easy to navigate, but it’s natural to run into a few minor hiccups when you’re starting out with any new tool. We recommend keeping the Getting Started Guide accessible on your desktop for quick access while you’re in the early stages of learning how to use Zipwhip.
2. Log in and do a walk-through of our app
We provide an additional way to walk through setting up your Zipwhip account. When you log into the Zipwhip app, click the question mark in the lower right corner of the app as shown in the image below. Then click on “How-to Guides”. Click on a tutorial and a window will pop up to guide you through the feature you selected. Here, you’ll learn how to set up Auto Replies, Custom Signature, Keywords and more. These guides will always be in the same spot if you ever need to reference them. In the same section, you’ll also find helpful video tutorials, a registration link for live training webinars (see step three below) and updates on what’s new with the Zipwhip product.
3. Register for a Getting Started Webinar
If you prefer a live guided tour of your new business-texting software, our Getting Started Webinar is just for you. Hosted by Zipwhip’s Courtney Parham, this interactive session is offered four times a week and walks you through the tools in your Zipwhip dashboard, our apps and because the webinar is live, you’ll have the opportunity to get your questions answered in real time.

4. Download Zipwhip’s mobile app and browser extension

5. Train your team
This is a lofty step, and it’s one of the most important things you’ll do after text enabling your number. It’s imperative that your team not only fully understand how to use the new software but also why they’re expected to use it regularly. Get a training plan together, schedule follow-ups and designate a point of contact dedicated to helping employees when they have questions.

8. Craft the perfect introduction text
When you’re ready to start texting, take a look at this quick guide to putting together a solid introduction text. These four steps are simple but they’re important to keep in mind when you’re reaching out to customers: be clear about why you’re texting, ensure your tone is appropriate, provide an opt out and add a signature.
